BAHA Summer Mini-Mite/Mite/8U Camp

BAHA Summer Mini-Mite/Mite/8U Camp 2019

For players that will be Mini-Mites, Mites or 8U during the 2019-2020 season

*Lead Instructor – Coach Grant VanWyngeeren*

The Summer Mini-Mite/Mite/8U Camp is for players that are wanting to work on improving their skill level in hockey.   This camp will emphasize and instruct players on proper skating, stick handling, passing and shooting techniques. Proper skating technique includes the recognition of edges, proper knee bend, stride length and recovery. Stick handling instruction will include understanding the proper hand placement, and movements to increase the players comfort level with the puck, which is crucial in stick handling and shooting.  Proper shooting and passing techniques will be a focus to improve both power as well as accuracy.  The players will always be rewarded for their efforts with a small game to finish the on-ice sessions.  These small games will focus on a specific skill that was introduced during practice.

The Camp includes off ice training that will focus on coordination and agility as well as increasing overall hockey knowledge.  The ability to reinforce skills off the ice will translate and help the player increase their progression on the ice.  Games off ice such as handball, soccer and other fun activities will increase their ability to read and react, use hand/eye coordination and elevate their competition level.  Off ice training will help on the ice as well as keep the camp fun!

June 4th – July 25th – No sessions the week of July 4th

Cost of Camp $175.00

The camp starts on Tuesday June 4th and held T /Th alternating with M/W/F

(June 4, 6, 10, 12, 14, 18, 20, 24, 26, 28 – July 9, 11, 15, 17, 19, 23, 25)

On Ice Time: 7:45AM-8:45AM                     Off Ice Time: 9:15AM-10:30AM

This Camp will be limited to 30 Skaters

BAHA Skills Development Camp

BAHA Skills Development Camp

This camp is for players interested in taking their game to the next level and working hard to attain that goal through focused attention to their skill development. The camp will focus not only on skating and overall skill development, but will increase “hockey sense” which can separate one player from the next.  Being a good skater, stick-handler and shooter is a good start, but positioning, awareness and recognition shift to shift become extremely important.  Ending the practices with a small area game is a great way for the players to apply the teachings of the skills which allows them to get out of their comfort zones without worry of making mistakes.

Cost of Camp $125.00 (12 sessions) Goalies –FREE! (must be goalie for all sessions)

Sign up for your level of play in 19-20 Season

***UPDATED INFO***
Due to low numbers in the Girls, Peewee, and Mini-Mite/Mite/8U groups, we had to cancel those groups.  If you fall in one of those groups, you have an option of skating in either the Squirt or the Bantam groups.  We recommend 10U girls skate in the Squirt group as well as incoming first year peewees/12U.  2nd year peewees and 12U may want to skate in the bantam group but can also skate in the squirt group.

We apologize for any trouble this may cause, but unfortunately we just don't have enough numbers in those other groups to make it work.
